Starting this January 2020 advertisers can no longer be able to create a message extension ads. These types of ads will stop showing up starting this February 2020.

This feature was released 4 years ago and actually helped users, but before creating them they found out that both advertisers & searches loved call extensions. When creating the message extensions, businesses attracted more potential customers that helped them to have a better performance of their mobile search ads. But still, the call extensions had a higher CTR in comparison with the message ones.

1. Collect your Message Extensions data ASAP!!!
Google will give you all this year to review your message extension ads’ data so you can have all the info before they start deleting them next year.
