Last year Google was excited to share with their Partners their new products, Discovery Ads, which is a whole new format of ads. 

These new forms of Google Ads appear in the Google Discover feed, YouTube & also on Gmail. – Yes, this feature is only available for mobile search. You can see the Discover feed on the Google Mobile App.

Google Discover was launched back in 2016 as a feed that provided the users with all types of content that such as news in an image format. Google Discover was a direct competitor to Pinterest & Instagram. So they decided to create some Discovery Ads on that platform.

What exactly are Google Discovery Ads?

If you look at them, are exactly as the Display Ads structure of FB product ads appearance. They have an image, the company’s logo, title, description & a call-to-action.  

Google has been tested these types of ads as a performance measure & uses targeting that is regulated by the target groups. During these test phase, they’d proved that Discovery Ads have better click & conversion rates in comparison to Display Ads. Most of the traffic comes from Gmail so this can be a good email marketing strategy.

 

2020 is the year! Google will officially launch Discovery Ads this spring, we hope the test phase is done by that time!
