We all have heard before that [content] is fire … but it actually ignites when it is relevant!
People go to the internet looking for something valuable to them. Consumers go to buy technology, clothes, make reservations, learn & other important actions that will sum up their lives. Businesses see it as the opportunity to open a new online shop, apply their marketing efforts looking forward to having consumers that make conversions to their business.
When it comes to creating content we have to put ourselves in the audiences’ shoes…
by this I mean let’s [ think like a customer!]
It is essential to have valuable content, one that really brings something new to your audience, but most importantly, one that contributes to their lives and influences them to start changing habits and behaviors & teach them to replace it with better ones.
So let’s start analyzing what kind of content you consume & the one you would like to always consume.
History has shown that there’s a correlation between cost & value: the higher the price, the better things tend to be.
It’s true that when we have to pay a lot for something nice, we tend to appreciate it to the fullest.
Think about expensive content.
It’s time to give your audience relevant videos, images, blogs, podcasts, webinars or any other content you create.
[Don’t just create something because you have to, but rather create it with passion, creativity… it should be your recreation time, a relaxing moment, something you love to do!]
One of the biggest challenges for content marketers is to start giving away true relevant content & we know how you feel…
We’ll make it easier for you to understand, remember & apply it.
So think of eating… you need to E-A-T to live!
Google’s Quality Rater Guidelines EAT stands for
[E]xpertise
[A]uthoritativeness
[T]trustworthiness
your content should stand out by E-A-T:
1. Expertise
showing that you are an expert on the subject that you’re creating. You don’t need to have years of knowing the content you’re creating, it’s all about the research you make & how well you explain it. Don’t just throw information that looks messy. Try to guide your audience throughout your content. Communicate the expertise that you’ve acquired [this way you won’t be seen as selfish].
2. Authoritativeness
gain authority by doing new ways of doing something. Experiment on new subjects, on the process you’ll learn what works & what doesn’t. Show your results, share your analysis & opinion about it. But you’ll need to have background research & that’s the fun part the [behind the scences]. You’ll be updated by all the trends & news. Your audience will start hearing you & consuming more of your content.
3. Trustworthiness
be honest on what you’re giving in your content [always say the truth] if it doesn’t sound quite good then don’t include it. It’s your name’s business or yours that is creating that content. Set your unique tone, give it your personality & a positive attitude. Sooner you’ll be causing a positive effect on your audience.
Make your audience engage with relevant content by EAT-ing before!
We’re curious…comment if you plan out a content strategy before or after your content marketing?
