Photo Mode: the new format that is attracting the attention of users on TikTok. Its functionality is very similar to Instagram’s. Rivalry in networks? Apparently yes. With the new update, users will be able to upload multiple photos in a carousel that will be automatically displayed, one after the other; where they can be accompanied by extensive descriptions of up to 2,200 characters.

The idea was born so that users can provide a “context” (more information) or story of the narrative videos published on their profiles.

Unlike other social networks, with this feature, you can edit, add music as you scroll through the photos, incorporate text as subtitles, and more. It is worth mentioning that now you can indicate the duration you want in your videos.

An important fact is that this new update is only available for mobile devices, so it will not be visible for desktop versions.

The platform took the opportunity to modify new tools in its video editing process for greater ease and fluidity. In order that its users not have to leave the application.

Reflection question, are digital platforms generating innovation, or demonstrating strategic plagiarism?
